    Responsibilities

     The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for clinical radiology support and quality control. Performs prescribed procedures for inpatients and outpatients working in a safe manner by following established guidelines, policies, and applicable state requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

    Clinical Radiology Support: Utilizes technical knowledge to provide quality diagnostic radiographs to aid the physician in a diagnosis 

     

      • Positions the patient appropriately to achieve the desired view using portable CR X-Ray machine
      • Utilizes appropriate radiation safety techniques to protect both the patient and any assisting personnel
      • Utilizes technical knowledge to develop all exposed radiographs to produce a quality diagnostic film
      • Maintains all equipment, troubleshoots, and takes corrective action
      • Assists in all fluoroscopic procedures
      • Maintains an accurate inventory level of radiology supplies
      • Exhibits ability to completely provide services to the age groups above in regards to development, communication and data collection
      • Performs quality control as appropriate to ensure integrity of equipment and techniques
      • Schedules monthly processor cleaning and preventative maintenance
      • Schedules patient exams and notifies assisting personnel
      • Ensures tests are completed in timely manner and reports are sent to requesting physician
      • Maintains the highest level of customer service via courtesy, compassion and positive communication
      • Promotes the mission and vision of the system within the work environment and community
      • Respects dignity and confidentiality by adherence to all applicable policies and procedures

     

    This is an on-call PRN position to include nights, weekends, holidays to ensure Radiology Department has 24/7 staffing coverage.  Limited first shift assignments.

    Qualifications

     

    The Radiologic Technologist must:

    • Be a graduate from a JCERT-approved school of radiologic technology is required
    • Be ARRT registered and current State of Wisconsin license as a Radiographer is required
    • Have American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent required
    •  

    Experience: Portable and CR experience highly desired

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

    • Must be able to read and write English at a high school level
    • Must be able to utilize all equipment to include the following: Radiographic machine, Fluoroscopic machine, and Video Recorder
