    Staff Accountant 


    We're looking for a Staff Accountant to join the Post Acute Medical Team!  As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Accountant and/or Controller in reporting the financial results of our hospital's operations, establishing and maintaining the hospital's financial policies and procedures, safeguarding the hospital's assets, maintaining proper internal control, and advising our hospital's management team on general financial and accounting matters. 


    As a Staff Accountant at Post Acute Medical, you will:

    • Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements and ledger closing process for all lines of business
    • Assists in the preparation of monthly bank account reconciliations
    • Enters monthly journal entries into ledger accounting software
    • Prepares monthly journal entries for assigned cash and administrative accounts
    • Maintains monthly journal entry binders
    • Assists in the preparation of statements and exhibits for audit preparation for Audited Statutory Statements and 401(K) Plan
    • Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations
    • Assists in the preparation of exhibits for quarterly and annual regulatory and compliance reporting
    • Prepares Department of Insurance (DOI) statutory health statement
    • Department of Health (DOH) Survey, and Department of Public Welfare (DPW) financial reports
    • Assists in financial operations activities specifically initiation of the weekly medical claims check and monthly capitation check process
    • Prepares account analysis of various general ledger accounts


    To be considered for this position, you must:

    • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/MBA/MBAA designation is a plus!
    • Have 2-5 years of experience working in a professional accounting role or similar function 
    • Have prior accounting experience in the healthcare field (preferred, but not a deal breaker)
    • Have sound accounting skills and a solid understanding of GAAP/ and or STAT accounting concepts
