    Full-Time Evenings; 2pm - 10pm

    The Life Skills Technician provides direct patient care focusing on:

    • Assisting brain-injured clients in physical restoration, cognitive restoration, behavioral difficulties, nursing needs, recreational needs as well as other activities of daily living
    • Reporting information regarding client functioning to shift supervisor and program Registered Nurse
    • Demonstrating competency in the implementation of the treatment plan through completion of scheduled client activities
    • Participating in behavior modification programs by promoting socially acceptable behavior, using appropriate intervention and documentation
    • Completing accurate records to ensure correct documentation in the appropriate time-frames according to policies and procedures
    • Demonstrating responsibility for own personal growth by participating in staff meetings and in-service educational activities and participating in client staffing
    • Competently completing all aspects of patient care including age appropriate techniques for ADLs, mobility, transfers, hygiene, toileting, bathing/showering, hair cutting, recreational activities, and use of adaptive devices
    • As a team member, participates in the daily staff assignments such as: client activities/outings, meal preparation according to dietary guidelines, patient feeding, laundry, supply ordering, grocery shopping, client rounds, bed changes, and patient bathing
    • Participating in OSHA required training


    The Life Skills Technician must:

    • Have a high school diploma/GED
    • College credit hours related to brain injury, rehabilitation or other human services courses is preferred
    • Interest in neurologic rehabilitation preferred

    Life Skills Technician Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

    • May be requested to operate other equipment and/or perform duties not related to position (i.e., operate motor vehicle for client transport) at the discretion of supervisor
